Iona

The silent walk up Dun I mountain, took on little different flair:

We climbed and talked together, helping each other to get there.

We meditated on our own when at the top we had all come.

Then after a group photo, prayed in silence for each one.

Back down the hill we came, advised to carefully follow the trail,

After a few attempts to do otherwise proved that they would surely fail.

A walk into the town, and for afternoon tea and scones outside we were seated,

(It’s now become a favorite, for almost every day they’ve repeated.)

With free time for exploring, and then a return to the main house all would go,

To learn how to write collects that we’d share tomorrow with St. Joe’s.

The group all devoured the dinner, and then with reflection to end our day,

A first wonderful day on Iona – I think all are very glad to stay.
