Edinburgh to Iona
George’s son Graham has now joined the family business
But a group boarded his bus, and it wasn’t us!
It was all sorted out, our group got on the bus
Off to Oban they traveled without any more fuss.
Most took a nap, traveling towards Oban to the west
An early lunch stop at the Green Welly (their chowder’s still best!)
Fr. Marty had left early, groceries for a week to buy
This group really likes food, so the demand drove the supply.
They arrived at Oban Tesco’s, Fr. Marty had completed “round one”,
with the pilgrim reinforcements, the shopping pressed on.
The fastest shopping ever — a new record to keep:
with two hours to spare: this group should be on Supermarket Sweep!
The ferry ride to Craignure, then the windy bus ride to Fionnphort,
then another ferry to Iona, but this last ride is short.
What a gift to have a van to carry the luggage and food,
Though it was a long day, all were in a great mood.
We sat down to dinner to finish the long day with dinner:
Local Mussels from Mull and shrimp chowder was a winner.
